For Operating Partners and Portfolio Company Leaders
Operational Clarity for Portfolio Companies
Clear Communication. Stronger Leadership. Sound Decisions.
Growth and acquisitions put pressure on how teams communicate and execute. RYNO provides organizational communication consulting for private equity firms and portfolio companies, identifying unclear ownership, missed handoffs, and delayed decisions. Start with a focused Operational Flow Assessment to pinpoint breakdowns in critical workflows and prioritize improvements.
Where Is Execution Getting Stuck?
Start with a focused review of the decisions and handoffs slowing your team down.
WHEN TO BRING RYNO IN
When Growth and Change Strain Execution
Bring RYNO in when priorities are clear, but decisions, handoffs, and follow-through keep stalling.
After an acquisition: Teams need clear responsibilities, shared reporting expectations, and reliable handoffs between the platform company and acquired businesses.
During rapid growth: Approvals pile up, information stays within departments, and leaders become bottlenecks for routine decisions.
During leadership transitions: New CEOs, COOs, and functional leaders need clarity on who decides, who contributes, and when issues escalate.
The Operational Flow Assessment examines critical workflows and identifies practical improvements your leadership team can prioritize.
Start with an Operational Flow Assessment
A focused, two-week diagnostic for portfolio-company leadership teams. We trace 4–6 critical handoffs to identify where information, ownership, or decisions break down—and give you clear priorities for improvement.
What We Examine
We trace 4–6 real handoffs across six checkpoints: origin, ownership, requirements, destination, receiving readiness, and deviation response. Each checkpoint receives a green, yellow, or red rating with the friction point identified.
What You Receive
A scored map of the assessed handoffs, supporting observations, and prioritized action items. Your leadership team gets a clear view of where communication stalls and what to address first.
How It Works
A two-week engagement delivered remotely, with on-site work available. We agree on scope and access before starting. The assessment provides diagnosis and recommendations; implementation support is scoped separately.
THE RYNO APPROACH
A Communication Framework for Portfolio Company Execution
Our Ownership–Standardization–Refinement framework guides the assessment’s recommendations: clarify who owns decisions, make critical handoffs repeatable, and identify where communication processes need improvement. Implementation support is available as a separate engagement.

Ownership
Clarify who owns each decision, handoff, and follow-through so portfolio-company teams can act with accountability during growth and leadership transitions.

Standardization
Define repeatable handoffs, reporting expectations, and escalation paths so teams can coordinate consistently across functions and newly acquired businesses.

Refinement
Review where communication stalls, adjust existing processes, and strengthen decision-making as integration progresses and operating priorities change.
